Re: More multisyncs

the 1302 is only available as either a 1302A or 1302AW. I suggest
making sure you get the AW model, it has auto-image-sizing, which is a
big plus. You should be able to find an AW for under $600.

you're correct. for a multisync to work with the ST in all modes, it
must go as low as 15.75KHz horizontal and 60Hz vertical, and as high as
38KHz (I think!) horizontal and 70Hz vertical. If the Panasync doesn't
go that low, it won't sync in low-res (med-res is 31.25KHz). This
prevents many high-res monitors from working with the ST, because the
bandwidth is not wide enough, and it is shifted upwards to work with
higher resolution display adapters. For instance, the NEC Multisync
Plus, Multisync 4D, XL, 5D, and Sony 1304HG all won't work with the ST
in low resolution.

of course i'd recommend the 1302, the image is fantastic, although on
both the 3D and 1302A the image can't be adjusted to full screen (not
sure about the 1302AW). The Mitsubishi AU1381 can have a full screen
image, but the image quality isn't that good anyhow. I am using the NEC
3D right now and it is satisfactory, all though it isn't great.

i'd be happy to help YOU make a switch box. it isn't that easy, and it
will probably be ugly, but it would be cheap and work well. probably
cost under $10, if you don't mind it not being real pretty.
well, let me know how it goes and what you decide.
